Do the Surface pro 6 and up need a antivirus and antimalware installed?

Microsoft's security software has improved but it's not up there with the best of the rest. Personally I would install a free anti-virus like Avast,Avira,AVG,Bitdefender,Kaspersky,Panda Security,or 360 Total Security and just use the firewall installed into Windows which some claim is pretty good.

Yes, it's a Windows PC, therefore it needs an antivirus. However, fortunately all computers starting with Windows 8 have had the Windows Defender automatically installed by default. If you don't want to install a 3rd party antivirus, then just use the Defender.
