Should I continue renting or buy a home?
I am recently separated from my husband. We have a wonderful baby boy. I am renting an apartment and now I have money to buy a house, but I don't want to be attached to anything because I want to go back to my country with my baby in approximately ten to twelve years. Everybody is telling me to buy a two family house and live in one side and then rent the other for income. But what happens if I don't sell the house when I am ready to leave and I am stuck in that house. Also I don't want to put all my money in a house. Can anybody help me to decide?

if you have enough money you should by a house but if you dont you should keep renting

If you are recently separated. And have a baby. You should give yourself some time before you make a big decision like purchasing a home.
Rent a nice apartment, relax, decide which neighborhoods you like and what kind of life-style you want to live for the next 10 years.
Everything will come in time.
Use your zen.

Don't buy anything, the first 10 to 20 years of buying a house is all interest anyway. Your leaving anyway, so why put yourself in a position that's going to keep you here.
